NAME Disable-DbaHideInstance
SYNOPSIS
Disables the Hide Instance setting of the SQL Server network configuration.
SYNTAX
Disable-DbaHideInstance [[-SqlInstance] <Sqlcollaborative.Dbatools.Parameter.DbaInstanceParameter[]>]
[[-Credential] <Pscredential>] [-EnableException <Switch>] [<CommonParameters>]
DESCRIPTION
Disables the Hide Instance setting of the SQL Server network configuration.
This requires access to the Windows Server and not the SQL Server instance. The setting is found in SQL Server
Configuration Manager under the properties of SQL Server Network Configuration > Protocols for "InstanceName".
PARAMETERS
-Credential [<Pscredential>]
Allows you to login to the computer (not SQL Server instance) using alternative Windows credentials
Required? false
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? False
Accept wildcard characters? false
-EnableException [<Switch>]
By default, when something goes wrong we try to catch it, interpret it and give you a friendly warning message.
This avoids overwhelming you with "sea of red" exceptions, but is inconvenient because it basically disables
advanced scripting.
Using this switch turns this "nice by default" feature off and enables you to catch exceptions with your own
try/catch.
Required? false
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? False
Accept wildcard characters? false
-SqlInstance [<Sqlcollaborative.Dbatools.Parameter.DbaInstanceParameter[]>]
The target SQL Server instance or instances.
