SYNOPSIS

Displays latch statistics from sys.dm_os_latch_stats





SYNTAX

Get-DbaLatchStatistic [-SqlInstance] <Sqlcollaborative.Dbatools.Parameter.DbaInstanceParameter[]>

[[-SqlCredential] <Pscredential>] [[-Threshold] <Int>] [-EnableException <Switch>] [<CommonParameters>]

This command is based off of Paul Randal's post "Advanced SQL Server performance tuning"

PARAMETERS

-EnableException [<Switch>]

By default, when something goes wrong we try to catch it, interpret it and give you a friendly warning message.

This avoids overwhelming you with "sea of red" exceptions, but is inconvenient because it basically disables

advanced scripting.

Using this switch turns this "nice by default" feature off and enables you to catch exceptions with your own

try/catch.

-SqlCredential [<Pscredential>]

Login to the target instance using alternative credentials. Accepts PowerShell credentials (Get-Credential).



Windows Authentication, SQL Server Authentication, Active Directory - Password, and Active Directory -

Integrated are all supported.

-SqlInstance [<Sqlcollaborative.Dbatools.Parameter.DbaInstanceParameter[]>]

The SQL Server instance. Server version must be SQL Server version 2005 or higher.

-Threshold [<Int>]

Threshold, in percentage of all latch stats on the system. Default per Paul's post is 95%.
