SYNOPSIS

Generates a new data generation configuration file.

New-DbaDbDataGeneratorConfig [-SqlInstance] <Sqlcollaborative.Dbatools.Parameter.DbaInstanceParameter[]>

[[-SqlCredential] <Pscredential>] [[-Database] <System.String[]>] [[-Table] <System.String[]>] [-ResetIdentity

DESCRIPTION

Generates a new data generation configuration file. This file is important to apply any data generation to a table

in a database.

-Database [<System.String[]>]

Databases to process through

-EnableException [<Switch>]

By default, when something goes wrong we try to catch it, interpret it and give you a friendly warning message.

This avoids overwhelming you with "sea of red" exceptions, but is inconvenient because it basically disables

advanced scripting.

Using this switch turns this "nice by default" feature off and enables you to catch exceptions with your own

try/catch.

Resets the identity column for a table to it's starting value. By default it will continue with the next

identity.

Amount of rows that need to be generated. The default is 1000.

-SqlCredential [<Pscredential>]

Login to the target instance using alternative credentials. Accepts PowerShell credentials (Get-Credential).



Windows Authentication, SQL Server Authentication, Active Directory - Password, and Active Directory -

Integrated are all supported.
