NAME Test-DbaEndpoint

SYNOPSIS

Performs a simple connectivity test for TCP and SSL enabled endpoints.

SYNTAX

Test-DbaEndpoint [[-SqlInstance] <Sqlcollaborative.Dbatools.Parameter.DbaInstanceParameter[]>] [[-SqlCredential]

<Pscredential>] [[-Endpoint] <System.String[]>] [[-InputObject] <Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.Endpoint[]>]

[-EnableException <Switch>] [<CommonParameters>]

DESCRIPTION

Performs a simple connectivity test for TCP and SSL enabled endpoints. Tests if port is accessible, not if

endpoint is working.

Note that if an endpoint does not have a tcp listener port, it will be skipped.

PARAMETERS

-EnableException [<Switch>]

By default, when something goes wrong we try to catch it, interpret it and give you a friendly warning message.

This avoids overwhelming you with "sea of red" exceptions, but is inconvenient because it basically disables

advanced scripting.

Using this switch turns this "nice by default" feature off and enables you to catch exceptions with your own

try/catch.
