NAME Test-DbaIdentityUsage

SYNOPSIS

Displays information relating to IDENTITY seed usage. Works on SQL Server 2008 and above.

SYNTAX

Test-DbaIdentityUsage [-SqlInstance] <Sqlcollaborative.Dbatools.Parameter.DbaInstanceParameter[]>

[[-SqlCredential] <Pscredential>] [[-Database] <System.Object[]>] [[-ExcludeDatabase] <System.Object[]>]

[[-Threshold] <Int>] [-ExcludeSystem <Switch>] [-EnableException <Switch>] [<CommonParameters>]

DESCRIPTION

IDENTITY seeds have max values based off of their data type. This module will locate identity columns and report

the seed usage.

PARAMETERS

-Database [<System.Object[]>]

The database(s) to process - this list is auto-populated from the server. If unspecified, all databases will

be processed.

Required? false

Position? named

Default value

Accept pipeline input? False

Accept wildcard characters? false

-EnableException [<Switch>]

By default, when something goes wrong we try to catch it, interpret it and give you a friendly warning message.

This avoids overwhelming you with "sea of red" exceptions, but is inconvenient because it basically disables

advanced scripting.

Using this switch turns this "nice by default" feature off and enables you to catch exceptions with your own

try/catch.

Required? false

Position? named

Default value

Accept pipeline input? False

Accept wildcard characters? false

The database(s) to exclude - this list is auto-populated from the server
